Old Ones

This a creature I created for Star Trek Online's Halloween event. These creatures, called the Old Ones, are from an episode in original series, so the visual references I had to go off of were essentially little pipe cleaner puppets. Hector Ortiz created the concept for this character, which is what I mainly worked from for the final asset. The sculpt was done in Zbrush and the hair textures were done in XGen. I hand placed the hair card geometry in Maya. The fur was particularly challenging, as it had to work with 1-bit alpha with no sorting issues.
